I’m pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2025 service dog has officially received their pup. Over the next 10-12 months the dog will undergo specialized training, by Shane Whitney of WayBetter K9, to achieve full certification. During this time the recipient will participate in weekly FaceTime sessions with the dog’s handler, and once a month, the handler will travel back for a weekend of in-person, hands-on training.
It’s deeply rewarding to see this organization provide this life-changing support to veterans living with PTSD. The positive impact on the recipient’s well-being and daily life is truly profound.
The non-profit covers the cost to get the dog fully certified. The pup in training was delivered to the owner in Florida in September.

In 2024, we reached out to WayBetter K9 to provide a service dog to veteran with PTSD.
We understand the need for a service dog, as well as the cost that prohibits most veterans from receiving one.
The intent is to provide a service dog to a veteran every year. The dogs will require monthly in-person training by Shane Whitney (Dog Trainer). The non-profit covers the cost to get the dog fully certified.
